Top Six Uses For Lube (and they’re not all sex related!)

While personal lube is normally associated with sex and sex play - there are plenty of other times when lube can come in handy too. The aim of lube is to help reduce friction and there are plenty of times when a bit of lubrication can help you get your glide on outside of the bedroom!

  1. Massage - if you don’t like the feeling of being greasy or oily - a water-based lube is a great choice for massage.
  2. Prevent chafing - if you’re prone to chafing when you workout or go hiking - dab some lube on your thighs or bra line before you start and you’ll find it eases friction to stop that pesky chafing.
  3. Removing sticker residue from appliances - why do stores insist on putting stickers on appliances that leave a mark? Rub some lube onto the residue and rub gently with a soft cloth.
  4. Inserting menstrual cups or menstrual discs. If you want added lubrication when inserting reusable period products, use a small amount of water-based lube on the top of the cup or disc. Hello Lube is a great option - as it is ph-balanced and fragrance-free.
  5. Smooth your hair. Okay - we know this sounds a bit weird but trust us. If you’re stuck without any hair product and your flyaways are making you look like you’ve been poking your fingers in electrical sockets, just rub a small amount of water-based lube between your palms and smooth down your locks with your hands.
  6. Enhancing sexual intercourse or sex play. Lube can make sex and sex play a lot more enjoyable - especially if you are prone to vaginal dryness. Use as little or as much as you like. Water-based lube is also safe for sex toys.
